Burleigh’s New Police presence before Christmas!

A permanent police presence is set to strengthen community safety in Burleigh Heads, with the Queensland Government confirming construction has begun on a $1.1 million Police Beat facility on Park Avenue. Premier David Crisafulli announced that the new centre will open by the end of 2025, marking a significant step in the government’s plan to “restore safety where you live” and rebuild frontline policing across the state.

The Burleigh Heads Police Beat will include public reception and waiting areas, meeting and interview rooms, and facilities for officers working in the area. Staffing will include full-time Community Beat Officers during the week, with continued support from Palm Beach police after hours. The hub is intended to provide a visible, accessible base for residents, businesses, and visitors in one of the Gold Coast’s most active precincts.

The announcement follows increasing community concern about crime, youth disturbances, and property damage in Burleigh’s commercial and nightlife zones. Residents and local organisations, including the Burleigh Golf Club, have publicly called for stronger safety measures and more visible policing over recent months. The Burleigh Heads Police Beat as a major step toward safer neighbourhoods on the southern Gold Coast.
