Rooted in Burleigh Heads
About 80 per cent of our business sits within the greater Burleigh area, and that concentration is deliberate. Knowing a place well means knowing its streets, its businesses and the people who make it work, and you only earn that by being here for the long run. Our directors, Will West, James Borbidge, and Josh Cruden, have built the agency around that idea, carrying forward what the founding directors, Tony West and Judy West, started.
Jess Sabotic, our Head of Property Management, is a good example of what that looks like day-to-day. She has been with Lacey West for around 17 years, and like the rest of the team, she is only ever a few minutes from the properties and people she looks after. Each property is supported by a team of agents and support staff rather than a single point of contact, so nothing slips when someone is away. That customer-focused approach spans residential, commercial and property management, which is one reason so many of our landlords have stayed with us across multiple properties and many years.
Backing local sport
Grassroots sport is where much of southern Gold Coast life happens, so it is where much of our support goes. We are proud sponsors of the Burleigh Bears Rugby League Club, one of the oldest rugby league clubs on the coast and a Pizzey Park institution for generations of local players.
On the rugby union side, we back the Bond Pirates Rugby Union Club, a family-focused club competing in the Gold Coast and District Rugby Union. On court, we support the United GC Netball Club, which welcomes players of all ages and stages. Between them, these clubs give hundreds of local juniors and seniors a place to belong.
Surf lifesaving: school and community
Our support extends well beyond the sporting fields. Lacey West sponsors the Burleigh Heads / Mowbray Park Surf Club, the surf lifesaving club at the base of the Burleigh Heads National Park that keeps our beaches patrolled through the season. We also back the Burleigh Heads State School, the local state school where many of the area’s families begin their education.
Closer to the calendar, we are proud to support the Burleigh Winter Solstice, the free community festival that turns James Street into a winter street party each June. It is exactly the kind of event that brings the whole neighbourhood out, which is why it matters to us.
